Port Blair, March 22: The vessel MV Campbell Bay which sailed from Vizag is expected to arrive at Port Blair tomorrow (Mar.23) at 1100 hrs. She has on board a total of 371 adult passengers & 6 infants and 1.2 MT of cargo. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

The general consumers and Government Departments have been informed that power supply will remain suspended from Sinclair Hotel to RGT Road area on Mar. 23 from 0800 hrs to 1200 hrs, in connection with the urgent breakdown maintenance of the air break switch near JNRM.

Port Blair, March 21: A three (3) days training programme (March 19 to 21 March,2024) on "First Aid Fire Fighting & Disaster Preparedness" concluded successfully at the Fire Service Training Centre, Fire & Emergency Service (HQ). Altogether 152 individuals actively participated in the training sessions. The programme aimed to sensitize teachers, hoteliers, government servants, and the general public about fire safety and disaster preparedness measures.

S Jaglan, IAS, today held a meeting with Officers of the A & N Administration on the basic aspects of ‘Model Code of Conduct’ in the Conference Hall of Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Returning Officer, A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency and other senior Officers of the Administration.

Port Blair, March 21: A training-cum-interaction session for the Mobile Polling Teams constituted for implementation of Special Procedures for Voting by Absentee Voters in Senior Citizen, Physically Disabled and COVID affected/suspected category in the upcoming Parliamentary Election 2024 was conducted by the Office of the Returning Officer, ANIPC in the Tagore Govt. College of Education Auditorium.
